original poetry by @chrisloft This piece of twittery was composed over several hot days in January. I would stand outside, throw my head back and try to feel the wind somewhere inside me. The results were tweeted, to twitter and recompiled here. Twitery is a new digital form of poetry. Well, perhaps it is not real poetry, but 'twittery' is a new form of 'twiterature'.

These lines were written a few at a time and posted to Twitter over the course of a few evenings. I am now maintaining a seperate twitter account to receive these digital meanderings. If you are on twitter then add me @christwitery and you can receive verses as they are produced in your twitter stream. By looking at my profile page @christwitery - but in reverse order - you can gain an idea of the status of our current projects. I have just started twitery #3 Pixelated. If you would like to contribute your own twitery, or your own poetry then please contact me. DM @christwitery - I look forward to seeing others take up twitery.

Wind

by @chrisloft

Tonight I am the wind - hold back my head - ride whispers of the air. Ride on a breath and circle, like a bird; riding the streams of night.

5:19 AM Jan 29th from web

Hold back my head and turn, off in the darkened distance; out thru the starry night - fly down from a dizzy height, turn to a far-off place.

5:48 AM Jan 29th from web

Out past the power station; turn by the lonely school; down where they dance the tango; rise up go round again - turn on a night-time breeze

5:53 AM Jan 29th from web

Glide over sparking pylons, sweep past the school on the hill, wide by domestic driveways, skim thru a winding track; turn, and then go back

6:02 AM Jan 29th from web

Close my eyes: rise, on waves of drifting sky; out in a lonely night, dancing from a dance floor, catch your breath and sigh, again and fly.

6:25 AM Jan 29th from web

Catch your breath. Ride the wind, dive thru your dominion, sigh thru wall of air, dive like there's nothing there. Turn in a graceful circle

2:37 PM Jan 29th from web

Hold back your head, be the wind, feel her whispered touch. Close your eyes, float and glide between airified undercurrents. Don't hold back

2:45 PM Jan 29th from web

Power out in heatwave, fourty one degrees; fans off computer off; broadband has ceased. Cigarette in the front yard, slightly cooling breeze

5:58 PM Jan 29th from web

Power restored, I'm whole again, not deleted; I have not died. Not this time. Pick up bits and jiggle them all back together: like my life.

6:25 PM Jan 29th from web

Tonight I'm a wind, thoughts on a breath, dreams of a moment, riding the night on fingers of air, fresh from the mountain, hot from the sun.

1:22 AM Jan 30th from web

Cool as water, whisper so silent, breathing so gentle, dark as the night. Riding the waves of meandering moments, cast the night like a scar .

1:24 AM Jan 30th from web

Hold back your head, feel trembling begining, danger ahead as you float through your rage. Glide through misty aparitions - with your grace.

1:29 AM Jan 30th from web

Round, fly around and circle. Get your bearings from shapes on the ground. Fly from your markers, clockwise in circles, gentle flying around

1:31 AM Jan 30th from web

Take these as anchors that connote all meaning, fix on the landscape that lies under your wings. Anchor your bearings and fly like the wind.

1:33 AM Jan 30th from web

Now hold back my head. Now I can stand and ride the wind: over houses, over streets, over fields and trees; now I am a shadow of the breeze.

3:12 AM Jan 30th from web

Now I can stand here and be there. I am the wind. I am not rooted to this earth. I am freed of its shackles, I am master of its tenuous hold

3:26 AM Jan 30th from web

And now I am. And now I am beginning. I am the raging wind. I am the quiet breeze. I am the whisper of your name as I float above the trees.

5:11 AM Jan 30th from web

As I stand here all alone - screaming out your name; I cast my eyes above you, searching for your smile. Piercing blue eyes - that scorn me.

5:14 AM Jan 30th from web

Hold back my head, become the wind, search for your smile, smiling eyes, chasms I can no longer enter. Places that are forbidden to my soul.

5:16 AM Jan 30th from web

Lost in the wind. Lost from your heart. Lost from your smiles. Whisper my name and bring me back to life; or I die here in this lonely cell.
